Well create or add to your current useropts.cfg in your The Matrix Online folder.

Then add the follow for the noted affects, I'll add more as I find out about them.  It's an amazing sight to jack-in and see the cityscape straight away without waiting for all that Matrix Code to clear up.

# Disable the various intro/splash screens
Splash0 = ""
SplashDelay0 = 1
Splash1 = ""
SplashDelay1 = 1
Splash2 = ""
SplashDelay2 = 1
Splash3 = ""
SplashDelay3 = 1
Splash4 = ""
SplashDelay4 = 1
Splash5 = ""
SplashDelay5 = 1

# Disable the green "matrix code" effect when you jack in
WR_MatrixView_Min_T = -1.0
WR_MatrixView_Max_T = 0.0

# Experimental camera settings...makes interlock look much better.
CameraChaseDuration = 0.1
ILCameraMode = 2
CameraMinDist = 50
CameraMaxDist = 2800
CameraMaxSpeed = 1000

# Don't unselect target when you click on doors, etc.
TargetClearOnClick = 0

Seems we read the same threads...hehe.

Well, i tried that already. Works fine as for now. Not having the matrix code loading each time is especially for switching between loading area and matrix -very- sweet.

The camera settings for interlock work rather good. My camera bounces much less now than before, actually interlock is starting to become fun with those settings. Not sure if they can be tweaked even more though.

Btw, the settings are taken from the autoexec.cfg in the matrix folder.

I like the look of the green code fading away with the sound effect... keeps as a reminder that it's the Matrix. However because it's always too laggy I'm going to try this out.

Cheers for this.

The setting

CameraMinDist = 600

is the setting which lets you zoom upon your character, so 600 would be quite a bit away if ya want to zoom in on your new hat or glasses.
So for screenshort purposes it should be taken back to the inital 50.

I would REALLY like to do this.

Unfortunately, I'm a noob and have NO clue whatsoever how to create a useropts.cfg and can't find out how to edit it even if I DID find it.

So uh... help? Please?  :?

well, I don't have the game currently, but you should be able to find that file in your matrixonline folder somewhere, when you find it open it, and then change only the settings you need/want to change like draconis originally posted.

The useropt.cfg doesn't exist per fresh install.

Simply use notepad, put the text in there and save as useropt.cfg. Maybe need to rename the file manually via explorer.

You will also have to make sure you have it set so you can view file extension via your Folder Options to be able to rename the .txt file to .cfg file.

Awesome, guys. I used Wordpad and that did NOT work. The game wouldn't even start up for me. I was gonna ask if it was useropts or useropt, but I figured that out too. (Trial and Error for the Win!)

Thanks alot. I would definitely be looking into tips like this in the future. Anything that will help me customize the game better. Smiley

A note for anyone trying to create or edit such files for programs in general. As a rule you don't want to use word or wordpad as they add extra characters and symbols that you can't see in the file. You'll want to use notepad or another such raw editor that will not add extranious code to the file.
