Online Guide

This guide was designed as a resource not only for those new to The Matrix Online, but for everyone to make use of throughout their travels in Mega City. The guide covers all the basics and while it does explain most aspects of the game, it is by no means a 'how to' for MxO.

You will find a menu located on every page so you can easily navigate through this guide. There is also an index at the bottom of this page, to jump to it now click Index. You will also notice links, I recommend a web browser that supports tabs, ie Firefox, for this guide.

Just like the rest of the Matrix 'universe' this game is focused heavily on the story. The game uses both new and old characters to continue telling the story where the trilogy left off. Live events give players a chance to participate in the ongoing storyline in real time. If you happen to miss a live event, you can always catch up on what you missed, via Live Events @ Data Node 1. Now in regards to past critical missions you can access them by doing Archive Missions.

Another unique feature of MxO is Bullet TimeTm. Bullet TimeTm is a potent and unpredictable effect that may occur during Close Combat. Occasionally, under the stress of Combat, your mind will temporarily enter a state of enhanced rapport with the Matrix, and time will seem to slow down around you. While in this state it is difficult for enemy attacks to hit, and your own attacks become far more devastating. Bullet TimeTm cannot be forced or predicted. it only happens under exceptional circumstances, and usually only to experienced operatives. This is an excerpt from The Matrix Onlines Game Manual
