What is an Exile Hideout?

Exile Hideouts are usually underground, and may be fragmentary remains of previous incarnations of the matrix (the Bluepills believe that these subterranean ruins are left over from an earthquake). Hideouts can be profitably cleared by a reasonably well-prepared mission team.

Some Hideouts are more extensive. Their locations are quite well known - in fact, they're called out on your map. Most are regularly visited by a powerful "boss" who runs the operation. If you can corner and defeat this boss you'll often be rewarded with particularly desirable items. You can expect to find the boss hiding at the bottom of the building or cave they occupy. Each Exile boss has it's own unique item that it drops. There are 3 versions, each with the same enhancements but in increasingly greater power. Which item is dropped is generally dependent on the level of the person attacking it. If you are around the same level or lower, you have a greater chance of receiving the higher tier drops. Once killed the boss takes roughly 20 minutes to respawn so keep in mind that to get the best item you may have to invest some time.

One of the Matrix Online's great features is the control you have over your character. The game saw a new addition in the spring of 2007 with the release of the RSI Modification Pills. They were added in game on March 8, 2007 in Update 50 They allows you to permanently alter a physical trait of your RSI.

Where to find the Pills

Exile Hideout NPCs (except for the NPCs in the boss area of the bottom floor) and the bosses themselves now have a chance of dropping the pills. These pills can also be traded or sold. Different pill types can be found in different hideouts.
