I was always under the impression that it was a hydraulic fluid tank the Agent hits. Which is why we see the helicoptor lose stability, propellers begin to slow, and the cabin gauges show a drop in altitude and horizon check. If that's the case then certainly no BOOM!

But I'll agree with Al here, hollywood exaggerates on how and why cars blow up.. A LOT...

mebbe, when it hit the building something in the helicopter sparked an explosion. Besides, oxygen alone isn't enough to burn fuel you need fuel

That last post made no sense whatsoever.

As far as the chopper going down, it was not fuel. Even at the rate the spray was coming out, it would not instantly handicap the engine. However, the hydraulics could have caused the sudden failure. As for the explosion at the end, that was probably the fuel rupturing and igniting.

And "oxygen" as in O2, does explode on its own. "Air" is not pure oxygen by any stretch of the imagination. And for fuel of any kind to explode, it does require a proper ratio of chemical and oxygen. Watch Mythbusters once in a while, and you'll see.
