I have read this  thread over and over trying to figure out where I should stand and stuff and I think this quote sums up my feelings pretty well..

I mean if we want to get technical about flaws in movies, I can point alot out in great series like LOTR, X-Men, Harry Potter, and something that wasn't a book or comic first and made it's story as we watched...like this one. yes but a team of humans could produce an AI that was more intelligant than any member of the team withou being more intelligent that the team as a whole. if this AI is replicated several times each can study a differant area and there experiances can make an AI greater in ability (especialy as the programs can combine with each other in a powerful enough computer) than the first. with repetition the increase in ability is quite increadable
