Mibli - Whoa! (Parts 1 and 2)

Part 2 -

"Alright. Let's see what comes up." Mirage said typing a few strokes on his keyboard.

"Yep, something is wrong with his patterns." Apoch said looking at the screen.

"His brain has been tampered with." Denolus said from an intercom, "Very professionally might I add. You'd think it was the work of the Machine memory program they use for reinsertion."

"Who says it wasn't?" Mibli said looking around to everyone from his seat, "I knew something was off but I couldn't tell where."

"Well, if it was the same program it'll take some time and reworking to break away the layers of fiction to realize your true thoughts and memories." Denolus added as the computer started to type on it's own.

"Hm, this makes a lot of things worst. If my memory has been tampered with, what about Soul?" Mibli asked.

"Amazing how you find time to worry about someone else when your own mind is in trouble." Apoc said laughing.

"He's right though. The last piece of information we have before his memory was altered was right before the crash of the Phoenix Flame about a year ago. If, my reading of this data is correct." Mirage said looking to Mibli.

"Then, we need to find Soul and see if he is alright and find out about anyone else aboard that ship that may be suffering from this." Mibli laid his head back on the seat.

"What are you doing?" Denolus asked Mibli

"I'm going in to get him." Mibli said closing his eyes. He awaited for someone to connect him with the jack.

"Do you think that's a good plan? No telling what could happen to your mind. It's already stressed." Mirage said trying to persuade Mibli against this.

"Doesn't matter. I have a strong mind. I can make it. I'll just go in and make a drop. Then I'll come back." Mibli opened his eyes and looked at the crew that stared at him, knowing he wouldn't be able to do that.

"Alright, I promise I'll come right back!" Mibli added.

"Works for me. Load him up." Denolus ordered. Apoc moved to help load Mibli but when it came time for him to jack into the Matrix, Mibli only felt mind-numbing pain and they were forced to abort when he yelled out.

"What the hell happened!?" Mirage yelled looking over to Mibli. The old vet fell to his knees out of the chair holding his head as the ringing continued.

"I don't know!" Apoc answered looking from Mibli back to Mirage.

"Check the neural logs." Denolus said.

Mirage began typing and brought up list on one of his screens. He scanned it over quickly and then pointed to where the problem was, "His brain waves are so altered he can't get a lock onto his own RSI, forcing the system to reject him from the loading area. I've never seen anything like it. It's like he has a virus in his mind." Mirage looked over to Mibli and the others followed.

Mibli finally felt the pain leave his skull and he looked up to see everyone staring at him. Sweat rolling down his forehead, he felt himself taking shorter breaths of air until he fell over onto the ship's deck, his eyes rolled over. Mibli slipped out of consciousness while he heard the other's calling his name. Then suddenly he only saw darkness and he heard silence.
