I came accross a thread the first time I came to this site that was all about how to take screenshots, where they're saved and pretty much everything u need to make a decent sig.  But I havn't been able to find it since, if anyone could point me in the right direction it would be really appreciated.

The default key setting are set up something like this.

    F12 = JPG file
    Ctrl + F12 = BMP file ( I think this has changed recently though and been taken out of the game)
    Ctrl + U = Disable User Interface (leaving nothing but your character and the  environment around you)
    Ctrl + T = Disables Name tags above user(s) heads (this can also be toggled in the Advanced settings)

    For Video recording most of us use Fraps

    Note: all of these key binding can be changed from the Options panel >Video option panel>Key Bindings [/list]


    Now the location of where these screenshots end up will look something like this.

    Code:
    C:\Program Files\Monolith Productions\The Matrix Online


     Depending upon where you located the folder >Monolith Productions is where the data will be stored but it will always be in the Subfolder >The Matrix Online

    You mean JPG/BMP? If so I think the only difference is BMP's are higher quality, but are bigger files. (meaning they take up more memory)

    Although there may be more to it than that :wink:

    So BMP basically means you dont see the pixels if you enlarge it really big?!?

    The difference between BMP and JPG are the fact that a BMP (bitmap) is uncompressed, and therefore very large in file size.  Additionally, BMPs aren't natively web-viewable.

    JPGs are images with JPG compression, which makes them smaller in file size, however, can introduce some visual artifacts.  Normally, they aren't very noticable.  However, in cases of high compression (which usually doesn't happen with screenshots), the artifacts can seriously degrade an image.

    You'd take the BMP image only if you needed the graphics in a high-resolution, no-compression version for other purposes (i.e. making banners or sigs, or site graphics).  Using a JPG for this would degrade the image as you're adding compression on compression.

    To update this a tad, .BMP screenshot saving is still shift + f12 but you can not use it while in windowed mode.

    Tige' hit the nail on the head about the differences.
