On the guides it gives XYZ coordinates, how do I monitor those in-game so I know where I'm at and if I'm heading the right direction?

Good question.

Well access your in game map via 'M' then at the very bottom of the map you'll notice a button like '...' click that and it will display your current x:y:z: in your in game map.

Not 100% (will check I know there is a slash command for it) you can also type /location in your chat window and it will display your x:y:z.  Not sure if this stay up constantly or for a breif moment.
