How does one go about the maps?  Do you just run around taking screenshots of the minimap?

Well the city maps I first take the 'M' in game map screenshot.  Then clean it up with consistant colors.  Then in Photoshop I add each and ever item to that file.  Each opject is a layer that I can move around and assign to areas if they move.

The hard part is actually generating the end single area map (as I work via the complete map) as I have to manually crop each region apply the board and then generate a rollover effect image for each type.

If they were a more easier automated job of generating these single maps I'd be able to update them fairly quickly.  But as it stands it quite time consuming and that's what gets me.
