Hi ya'll, I have been looking for a long time to find a site that has a discipline tree, and kudos to you, you have one. Anyway, I checked out your forum and I thought this would be a good place to voice my questions:
1. I am thinking about getting the game and going for the SMG specialist discipline. Is that a good? Why?
2. Is knife thrower any good?
3. How strong are stimulacras at high levels?
4. What are the abilities of high level virologists? (not on your tree yet)
can someone just give me an overview?

Thanks all, I hope I can get these anwered. Anyway cya l8ter and maybe when I get the game.

Well I can anwser your first question seeing how im going to be a SMG specialist myself.
SMG specialist are not great in melee, i.e; lower rolls.
SMG specialist have to usually party with some type of melee fighter and then the SMG specialist can start doing something. I usually party with a melee fighter and just pick off the enemy at a distance with a mix of normal attacks and special skills so u can deal more damage faster.
SMG Specialist are still all around good Tongue

Oh and also,
Stimulacras are kinda weak once you make them, thats why they have special buff spells for them so they can be stronger and all.

Yes the main site has a form of discipline tree but it hasn't really been updated since BETA and doesn't really offer the full scale of the 500+ abilities you can have in the game.  Hence my project to get all those abilities to the masses.

Well I personally have gone down the Kung Fu Master tree, Coder Programmer tree and Hacker Virologist tree.

Any of the distance abilities like SMG and Knife Thrower can be good, but one thing I've found is that most gangs will try to engage all characters in Close COmbat and hence reduce the effectiveness of the range attack disciplines.  Combat evasion and keeping out of Close Combat is the key and having a fellow party member that can help stop a target from engaging you is the the key.

I haven't used the higher level simulacras but they can be quite pwoerful as it turns a solo player into his/her own group to handle most targets.  As you get higher they get higher and you can assign various buff's to them which is essential for their effectness.  I've read though that some simulacras at higher levels fail to engage or perform as they should and this might be a glitch that needs to be fixed in the game.

The Virologist can be very powerful in their own right as a solo player and even more powerful grouped with a melee combat partner.  The Skript kiddies side can lock down targets and the other trees have powfer logic blast and cannons which can kill a target in moments.  I should have the complete discipline tree finished by the weekend if you want to check again.

No need to become a member, but it's easy and allows you to be involved in the site fully.  Hope to see you in game.  You might want to read the Friend and Family article on the main page for a trial offer.

It's me. Anyway, I have been looking at your new complete discipline tree. Great work. Anyway, a few more questions.

Trauma surgeons seem like a very versatile support character. Are they good? Is it possible at this time for someone to be SMG Specialist/Trauma Surgeon? (I say at this time because I don't know anything about the level caps)

I have been thinking about what I could do, maybe get the above charactyer if possible, start a ship, crew, whatever. How does the crew system work? What are the benfits? Can you fight with your crew as a team? If I started a crew would I want to make it a varied group of support and combat characters, or focus on an all gunman ship (assuming the ship is for fvf or whatever)

Thanks for now, Peace, and thanks for the help, and the great job.

Firstly doesn't take much to join the site, there are some benefits Smiley

Yes it's possible to do both, but at lower levels (you start with 30 memory slots and get between 1-2 each level until you reach 50 with a memory of 100).  So you can do the math.  Most core abilities at the start require 10 memory slots so as you can see at lower levels you have to specialize and can't mix and match between trees.  But as you get more memory you can take on more abilities from each tree.

For more info on DN1 has a great article on Crews & Factions.  With the ease of changing your character load out you'll find you wont be a Gunman or Coder or Hacker all the time so will be hard to pigeon hole crews into one area, it's best to equipe the character for the task at hand.  So one minute you'll be an Operative and the next a Hacker.

Your Welcome.

Hey Gang, newbie amongst you. Smiley

Gotta say I agree, altho I only started playing last week, I've made my way down to the the Martial Arts Initiate tree, headed for Akido Grand Master. Only think is, Can't become an Akido GM untill fifty, and there aren't that many abilities from where I'm currently at, and where I'm headed.

So I had a few memory slots open, and went down the road to coder, so I could make Simulacra to help me out. Four fists are better than two you know
