Who we are…

We are among the oldest factions on Recursion (formerly Iterator) having been formed in beta. Right now we are somewhere between famous and forgotten. We were once a very well known faction and were even written about on Data Node one. Many of our members have gone on to other games (SWG to name one) or have otherwise left MxO. Our numbers have dwindled and so, we’re looking to recruit some new blood.

What we’re looking for…

As a faction we recruit players, not characters. We care more about who you are than what your level is. We are pretty laid back as a group and try not to take things too seriously. We know that real life will always come first and we won’t get mad at you if you don’t come to every faction meeting. We role play occasionally although it is usually in our dealings with other factions and not within the guild. We enjoy pvp but, like our attitude towards most everything else, we don’t take it too seriously. We don’t really care about your load out or your level. We’re just looking for some mature, laid back people who want to run with a good group of like minded players. We believe that good communication is the key to keeping any group running well and are very active on our forums and use a teamspeak server to communicate in-game.

The meaning behind our name, The Antediluvians is thus...

Among other things, antediluvian means pre-dating the Biblical Flood, an event that can be said to be analogous to the heavy rainfall at the end of the Matrix Revolutions and the beginning of the Matrix Online. We are old warriors, many of us having been awakened prior to the Smith infestation. We trace our roots to back to the first appearance of the One.

The choice of this name reflects the fact that we believe in the "old way" as shown by Morpheus, i.e. that Neo was indeed The One, a savior who saved the human race. In particular, support for this view can be found in Neo's abilities outside the Matrix (e.g. destroying sentinels) which are far beyond human norms. We believe that humans must be freed from the matrix at any cost and by whatever means necessary. We will begrudgingly work with the machines to procure our freedom and have an increasing sense that they are the gate keepers. We, for the most part, despise the Merovingian those who follow him. The destruction of the matrix would certainly spell his doom as well and we see him as the biggest obstacle to our freedom.
