Hi Guys,

I was bored last week and sat down to create an MXO loot bot so that I don't have to waste time farming $i and to learn some graphics processing programming in VB.net.

I have not told anyone in the MXO Forum community yet (on the station.com site) because I do not want to get my account banned and it's too easy to track via IP. This is the first forum to hear about it.

More information and some videos can be found on my site, www.mxobot.com

I'm basically looking for feedback from people to see whether or not the bot should be publicly released, whether the source should be released or whether it should not be released at all.

Thanks,
Mr. Gray

Heh. Pretty cool Mr. Gray. I enjoy my account too much to risk getting caught... but I do have two questions:

1. Will it work with the "Follow" feature? (You could have an entire team of six running around with Howitzer!)

2. Will it see Player Characters who are flagged as enemies and attack them?

Thanks.

It can't follow because I never programmed it in, but it's possible and not very hard to do. Never thought of team farming. Cool idea!

It doesn't really distinguish between players and other enemies. It will try to avoid higher level or equal level opponents though by running away or hyper jumping away.

Peace

PS. How do we know that no-one has made a bot before? Tongue

I can say with confidence that this is not the first mxo bot Wink

But good job.  I especially like the way you read the map when navigating buildings.

Hahahaha, OWNED... By TasteeWheat. Sorry, Mr. Gray. It's easy to seem polite and all, but I can conclude you're probably up to no good like a "friend" of old who went by the alias: Malware.

You should really stop pursuing this immediately. It's interesting to see on your very own page how you state "Yes, using a bot is against the EULA."

But I can't shake the feeling that you're in this not to provide farming bots to the masses but to pack a whole lot of spyware in with the deal as well, maybe even viruses.

Unfortunately, I can never trust someone on the Internet that greets others virtually with "Hi Guys," ever.

Woah.. Sykin.. ouch.

I think he just made something cool and wants to show it off.

If he wanted to infest machines he would have releases it already.

It looks like it works great.  If you do releae it and want to try and protect your code, make sure to at least use the community obscusificatior.

But ya... it is definately against the EULA.

Tastee. When I looked around for MXO bots I found a ton of sites trying to sell subscriptions for $24.99 to MXO cheats, but no matter how hard I tried I found no bots. I was mostly interested in farming. I already have multiple level 50 characters and I don't care much for missions.

As far as me putting spyware in there, that's a pretty dumb statement. If I wanted to infect people with spyware I'd release the exe and say "Download it now!". But, at this time I do not even wish to release the program. And how much could I possible make attaching spyware to a program and showing it to the MXO community? This community is so small that doing something like that would be stupidity 101 because word would spread instantly.

As far as me greeting with "hey guys". well. what did you expect?

There is always haters and I understand that. I was just trying to see what people think about the project and whether or not it's worth pursuing as an open source project for the most part. So far it seems like no one would be interested in using the bot because of fear of losing an account, which seems perfectly normal.

Peace

Meh, i have to say i kinda agree with sykin, not in any accusations of your character but by saying, stop, stop now. I wouldnt release it and i wouldnt pursue it, its things like this that games like WoW suck, the community suck and the fun be sucked right out of em, i for one would not like to see the same kind of 'infestation' here.

I still think he did a good job at it.  Against the EULA.. but still it looks like he did a good job on it.

Things he seems to have done well that I have seen cause problems.
-Looting (it seems from the comments made during the videos that looting can be problematic.. my kindom for a /loot command!)
-Running from Point A to Point B.  It is obvious that his program is looking for the building outlines on the map (as well as reading the coords) to determine with to turn and when to run.

It is still detectable by the SOE team.  It just depends on how busy their day has been.  If you are AFK and they ask you what you are doing... that will get you in trouble.  Unless of course you add an auto responder and talk in french or japanese...

Good job (from a problem solving standpoint)

But as everyone will point out.  It is against the EULA.

PS. I wasn't banned for a bot or the Zion Mainframe bot (at least I don't think I was banned for the ZMF bot)

Interesting creation you have there Mr Gray, and thank you for sharing.

I understand yours and others issue with the program.  I hope you understand that in the past some people haven't had the best intentions in mind so people get on the back foot first.

This could be a decent thing to test on a 10-day trial basis where if it's banned or found out it wont really mater.

Just a final warning to all, always use your best judgement when using third party programs!
