mom......da-dad?

A small 4 year old sat byt his fathers side. Not old enough to realize the arm opposite the one he was next to was gone, as was the woman, his mother's Head....Red alizarin and sky blue dual toned eyes sat witness, mute witness to Those who "Zionists" met with.

All he saw as he came home from school, bruised lip from yet another scrap in the playground, was a man in a business suit with blue eyes like his left one. The red right eye was a birth defect plain and simple.

Two other similarly dressed men folowed the first, muttering into an earpiece Target eliminated. Extraction candidates neutralized

And now, he sat as police arrived, gasping at the sight. a gory scene out of a horror movie, and a small toddler covered in blood crying on half of his fathers torso....Joseph and Sarah Burch, survived by their only son Jacob Burch.

Jake would never forget the cold eyes, nor forgive The one with eyes like his own color blue.

Bouncing from foster home back and forth from age 4 until he ran away t his parents old home neighborhood. Mannsdale. Now, at 14 he was bleeding slowly to death, from a gut shot.

The irony was, His own gang leader ,Burner, Had shoot him. Because they had gone through a lot to kidnap Jake's birthday toy. And drop kicking burner over a girl never was a smart Move. Raoe. He met Burners eyes with his own.

He'd dabbled in chemistry so much in his short life that, due to mannsdales numerous dark alley's, he'd synthesized a toxin that caused ocular cells to fluoresce.

Burners name did not match the nova Radiance Jakes eyes promised agony when he returned. Because at that moment sirens blared from all three corner entrances to the small alcove between the building's. and Jake passed out from the bulet wound to his stomach. The very girl they had kidnapped for him to forceably rape and beat, Had not run off blindly.

mannsdale was heavily patrolled at that time because of the many gang wars. She had told them simply that the Reaoers kidnapped her, and were going to moles and kill her and that one of them had taken a bullet to let her get away

This stray girl, two yaars younger than jack, 12 due to Burners sick mind, visited him in the ward of the hospital witin the prison. Hero or no he had done grievous things as a reaper gang member. She had never heard his name and so when he could not speak from weakness and pain, she called him the Winter ngels. It had been snowing and she saw him as a guardian angel.

If only she knew he thought as he averted his eyes. Angelus, The cold winter of life.

(crappy intro sorry but i just wanted a quick runthrough of some of his unique physical and psychological traits as well as why he doesn't say much. feel free to add in as witneses. Someone has to give him the choice. and i never did cover how that happened in any history thread for him. who's game? )

It had been during his stay in the prison ward he'd met someone. a priest of all people. loved elvis, talked like him and drank like a fish. the teen liked him immediately. He spoke in a gutteral tone from the partial crushing of his trachea during the fight in the alleys asking his name.

Apocryphon.

"That cause you play a preacher but drink like a sinner? apocryphal?"

The guy'd just laughed and asked about his eyes. he wanted to avoid it. But the guy seemed straightforeward. He said he'd injected a chemical he'd designed from stuf his gang had looted from a pharmaceutical company to let him see in total darkness. But it made the whole world green and scroll like rain.

The priests laughed at that, taking a swig of whiskey.

"sound to me my young brother that you've seen the light"

Jake looked at him with a "no shit" look, which got another laugh. Guy musta got the joke but corrected him.

"no. I'm talkin bout the way THIS world really is! ain't real. don't eel right does it?"

Jake sat there, silent.

No, nothing had since he was four years old.

"how do i fix it?"

Apoc slapped him on the back and pushed a case into his hands

"ya choose son. Got ya released. me and a friend, Anubias. nice guy but real serious. now, let's get outta here you got a decision to make!"

Jake never looked back, never needed to decide. just took the red pill when they told him about the Matrix. then forsook his name. They wanted him to give himself a name for his true birth into a real world. no thought needed.

"Angelus. the only decent street rat to survive the shit the reapers did."

Four years later-

Angelus decided to take station on the Delphi with one of the men whom had saved him. Captain Anubias of Archimedes lever.

The doctors had been adverse to allowing him field op status because of his rather unstable mental nature. given to bouts of uncontollable rage. But his new captain, whenever he'd visited had always been able to immediately halt the red haze the boy got whenever they asked him about the matrix. He was like a calming drug. He trusted Anubias.

-one year later-

:transmission log delphi:

I leave this as a final testament. i can no longer handle this. Living like savages. watching the machines twist our people, lie to them and us them for energy and food for others. i'm ending it tonight captain.

"WHY ARE YOU DOING THIS ANGELUS?"

The luminous eyed teenager looked lost, confused, as if even he didn't know why.

"because i choose to"

Anu glared. how dare he use neo's words to justifyn genocide!

"stop this angelus! this is wrong. you'll start a new war. create more people that suffered just like you did at smith's hands! they'll kill anyone thught to be in contact with us....THEY'LL DELETE MANNSDALE!"

That caused the partially delusional teen to halt, glance down as he watched. he'd spent the time after leaving the Delphi and heading to the tunnels to find a deserted station hunting and cleaning his home. give his people somne peace before the end......but they didn't deserve that. they deserved a choice just like he had. they deserved to have life.

He dropped the detonator, sobbing for the first time since he'd found his parents bodies. wracking, soul wrenching sobs of a soul ripped apart and pieced carelessly together.

Anu approached and disengaged the detonator, calling to the operator to have zion med teams ready but to make sure security wasn't notified.

"i'm sorry captain. i just wanted the pain to stop. it always hurts."

The older man looked to the yellow eyed operative sadly

"it always hurts Angelus. but we're here to protect and save them. not destroy what they have. now come on. we gotta get you outta here before the rest of Cascades crew finds you."

angelus nodded, tears streaming down his face as he weakly stood. following the only man he knew he trusted at that moment.

"will i be taken to prison?"

Anu didn't turn to look at him but heheard the smile in his voice

"i think the doctors will get to you before that. the Delphi is the fastest ship in the fleet so we can get you to a shrink for downtime beforre the commander ever gets to you."

the two hyper jumped to a hardline, jacking out. The delphi was said to have pushed it's engines near to burn out by the time it made it to zion .

Angelus was released several months later from psychiatric care to the winterbroods command......several years later. 108 of them werre dead.

he couldn't stand death anymore.

He jacked in from his current ship, one of ffour left in the winterbrood fleet and called his old captain

"anu....i need a favor...."

He severed his ties with what remained of his old faction. The winterbrood simply was a source of too much pain. Every living member he saw was the face of one of those killed by the cypherites. he couldn't take it anymore. he'd seen anubias signal in the matrix, heard he'd joined the Omega syndicate. A faction friendly to winterbrood. He'd been on missions with the winterbrood that omega syndicate had aided in.

He never trusted compeletely, but They had never shown any reason to to be mistrusted. And if Anu and apoc trusted em, he would too.

"Anu....i'm leaving the winterbrood....i need somewhere to go. lock threw me up topside for trying to slice his throat after he accussed devol of being irressponsible and blaming him for getting his faction killed. you know my temper when you insult people i respect......can you talk to your superiors?"

"Are you sure this is what you want Angelus? i know the loss of the fleet took a toll o the entire faction but maybe you just need time?"

"FUCK TIME! everywhere i go, every new redpill i see is another face of one of my dead brothers or sisters! i have to get away. i have to start fresh. somewhere where nobody will judge me for what i did and you of all people know how people have judged me in the past. shit, you and apoc were the only ones who stood up for me during the whole archimedes lever incident!"

he was currently in the Sanguine, at his usual spot nin the vip room.

He waited a few seconds before Anu's voice came back, uncertain.

"i'll talk with em. see what we can do. are you still with the winterbrood.?"

"i am but i'm leaving them today."

He never got the chance to tell them. seemed Anu had acted on his old wards behalf, alerting Commander bell. he had been angry that anu had gone over his head but understood.

Right now he sat in club parralaxis, thinking. he liked the club more than Hel even. SImply because it was always deserted nand played good music. he prefered keeping to himself. it had been days since he'd asked Anu for this favor.

His head turned as he saw the side door open. A nwoman walked in, an Omega, and his jaw nearly dropped. He wasn't exactly hormonal, being that now he was 22 and past that stage in life for the most part, but jesus she was beautiful.

"ANgelus? I'm reikira. Captain of the coalesco. I heard you were looking to join the end family?"

Angelus stood, awkward like he was some clumsy teenager and ujust nodded dumbly. SHit she was a captain. Off limits. well, that didnt mean he could appreciate beauty now did it?

"Angelus winter Ma'am. i take it Anubias told you my circumstances?"

(Reikira, feel free to pick up ANd yes that is what i thought when i first met ya lol. deno is so gonna kill me for this)
